This is a fully working version of SampleTank able to play only the free sounds. No sounds are included with this installation. You can download the instruments available here:

In your SampleTank Instruments folder you'll also find a folder labeled 'XL Edition Instruments List'. This is only an example of the range of sounds in the XL version; SampleTank Free cannot play these incomplete instruments.
- System Requirements Macintosh(r):
Minimal: PPC604 200MHz with MacOS 8.5 or later system software, 64 MB RAM. Screen settings: 640x480, thousands of colors, 30 MB of free hard disk space. Suggested: Power Macintosh(r) G3/G4 with 128MB RAM, 50 MB of free hard disk space. ASIO card is recommended for low latency realtime play.
- MIDI sequencer:
SampleTank MAS requires MOTU Audio System(tm) 2.33 and MOTU Digital Performer(tm) 3.01. Any hardware setup that is correctly running MOTU Digital Performer(tm) 3.01 will do fine for SampleTank. A low latency audio card is needed for near real-time performance in playing SampleTank live from the midi input; for this reason ASIO(tm) drivers are suggested.
- Installation:
The installer places SampleTank in the MOTU default Plug-ins folder. You cannot choose a different location for SampleTank. In the chosen destination folder will be created a new folder called IK Multimedia, into this folder you will find the SampleTank Instruments folder containing the included sounds. You still need to download the free instruments; place them in the SampleTank Instruments folder.
